recently the KTMB introduced the limited stops train services which skips some station for a faster journey. It’s being powered by a locomotive infront rather than just normal commuter. Why is that necessary? Why don’t they just use the commuter as usual?

Would it be best to fly directly to Bishkek or is it better to fly somewhere else like Alma-Ata or Novosibirsk or maybe somewhere in China and then take a train from there to Bishkek? Also, how safe is it for someone who has common sense but limited Russian skills to travel there alone?
Yeah, but I’m interested in how to get to Kyrgyzstan. Is it cheaper to stop at an airport in Russia and take a train to Kyrgyzstan from there? Or is it best to just go directly to Bishkek?
Emz asked: Is there a Boots? How easy would it be for me to find a clothes shop from the station?
I’ve never been before, and have an hour to waste before my next journey.
